Never a truer word spoke (or typed) ecca.
Side 2 of Abbey Road has always been extremely high on my desert island discs list and these guys have done it great justice. I loved the changes of vocalist to suit the singer's voice (as opposed to the Paul sings his songs/John sings his) and I thought that Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight was just sublime.
Getting back to your point though, the fact that it has inspired these guys to copy it shows what a wonderful album Abbey Road was; so inventive, so .... well, musical. After the rubbish of the white album and the fighting in Let It Be, the fabs really came up with the goods for their finale. (last recording, not last released in case there's still anyone that still thinks that Let It Be was their swansong).
Just like The Beatles though, how could the Fab Faux top it?
