Nothing to do with The Shadows directly - although Clem Cattini & Bruce Welch are close friends (& have been since the Two I's days) & the Outlaws' belligerent Billy Kuy & a young Bruce almost once came to blows whilst 'discussing' the relative merits of Outlaws / Shadows etc! But....I digress. For anyone who might be interested - the Gloucester Civic Trust is putting on a Joe Meek Exhibition (Sept 27th - October 16th) & on Saturday October 2nd (12.00 - 1.00pm) I shall be giving a talk / lecture about Joe. The GCT is a charitable organisation & they have (not my idea!!) decided to levy a small (£2) entrance charge. I have delivered talks about Joe (& his artists) before at Gloucester Museum, Islington Library, Newent Joe Meek Festival as well as for music students associated with Edinburgh University. Details will eventually be on the trust's website or on the Joe Meek Society website - under 'News' (scroll down - as the latest news is always first).
