hi guys as some of you may know i told you i was getting a set of tonerider pick ups for my strat. well i got them installed on tuesday only to find there was a problem
the guy i got them from had neck pup rated at
6.2k . its not its 5.98 so thats not to bad
middle hes got 6.5k. nope its 6.41
and the biggest problem was at the bridge.
hes got it at 6.8k and its way out at 2.89
nigel my guitar tech has been in the buisness 20 od years
and he tested all 3 pick ups for me. neck and middle are not so much a problem
its the bridge.pick up we pluged it all in nigel fitted them for me and plugged it in before all this. it did not sound good. then nigel tested each pick up. i told the guy theres a fault in one of the pick ups and id like my cash back and he got funny with me saying dont start this sh*t. but i have photos as well now
that ive sent him im wating on his come back reply
there not rated at what hes got written on them so i have every right to a refund and if i dont get it ill go to paypal
its not as if there brand new they were 2nd hand.
i payed him 40 quid 5 postage
makes you wonder why he was selling at that price and why is he getting so afensive if there working fine in his eyes

Don't be too alarmed by the readings on the middle and neck pickups as they are almost what they ought to be, remember that different meters will vary the figures slightly. The bridge pickup sounds like it has either 'short' or 'open' circuited and needs a rewind. If you don't get any joy with the seller you may as well go for the rewind, I recently had a Fender Noiseless rewound by Kent Armstrong - £25.00 recommended, you'll find the details on Google. One other thing I would say to you is that it is very. very easy to damage a pickup just by handling it - I know 'cos I have done it, so it may just be possible that it was damaged when being fitted, though I'm not saying that it was so don't bite my head off . . . . . . .
You could drop the middle pickup into the bridge position and try the guitar to hear if it sounds roughly as you want it to before you spend any more money.
