Many thanks for that Phil - I really enjoyed the set played by "Warren Bennett & Friends" particularly the fantastic guitar playing of Mark Griffiths.

Every menber of the group was a treat to watch and the musical content was terrific.

Thanks Roger,
We all think of Mark Griffiths as the Bass player - but what a brilliant lead guitarist he is to !
The whole set was really superb - A great Bass solo from Mo, BB doing a brillant drum solo, and great singing from Warren. Just a great set.
Phil

I remember speaking with Mark at the Tyneside event a couple of years back about his time playing with Cliff's band (Thunder I think) as lead guitarist. He told me that after Jon Clark joined, they were due to go to South Africa and because of musician union rules, they had a problem in the 'bass guitar' position, so he stood in and has played bass mostly since then.

Mark played a superb solo set at that Tyneside event, too. He started out as lead guitar for Matthews Southern Comfort around 1970, and there was a Burns Signature model planned for him - see the 'Pearls and crazy diamonds' book.

Yup, great player.

Hi all,

Thank you for posting. A very refreshing set indeed.
All musicians playing superbly under the metronomical direction of Mr. Bennett.
How inspiring it must be to play, with him on the drums.
Bravo.

Blessings,
Abel

Thanks for these vidéos Phil. I missed the Runaways' set when in Tilburg in 2009, and they are indeed a great band. I particilarly much enjoyed their versions of "Temptation" and "Saturday nite at the duck pond".
"Hit and Miss" reminded me watching "Juke Box Jury" on TV when I was staying in England each July during the early sixties !

Just too bad you didn't record Indra's set...
