Chess-Craig Revel Horwood
Absolutely nothing to do with the Shadows other than the word 'chess' has 2 s's the same.
I went to see the new production of Chess today at Wolverhampton and was stunned by it.
It's directed by Craig Revel Horwood and is groundbreakingly different.
It wasn't the performers on stage and the orchestra sitting in their pit as normal and it wasn't even the orchestra on stage with the performers
which happens.
The performers were the orchestra.
They played their instruments, they danced routines, they sang harmonies.
I was mesmorisingly gobsmacked.
I watched as cello players moved around ,holding the instrument off its spike, in the air still bowing it, still singing.
Likewise a host of other instruments.
Unbelievable.
Go see it when it comes.
