South West Shadows Club Meeting - Sunday 31st October 2010

The next South West Shadows Club meeting is on the 31st October 2010, this will be held at our well appointed venue, The Exeter Court Hotel. This has easy access from either direction at Kenford near the Southern end of the M5 off the A38.

We were delighted to welcome the visitors from the other clubs last month and very much appreciate the kind comments that have been received.

South West Shadows Club is for those who enjoy playing or listening to Shadows-style music. Whether experienced player or novice, we have a friendly atmosphere and all that is required to get you up and playing to backing tracks or with the band .......... for more details and how to find us, please visit our website at:

Hi Everyone

I hope Ken won't mind my taking the liberty of copying his posting from our "Clubs" page, I know that it can be quite nerve racking visiting a Shadows Club for the first time, at South West Shadows Club we take great pride in helping people take that all important first step. For all those who have never been to a Shadows Club before, they are a great way of enjoying and expanding the musical experience, whilst making new friends.

"Hy everyone My name is Ken melbourne. I have just joined S.W.S.C after going 2 times as a visitor, and i can honestly say that i have realy enjoyed myself thanks to everyone concerned with the running of the club. I was made to feel welcome the first time i went through the doors, 1st time a bit apprehensive about what i was about to find , but no need to worry at all on that score. I went back to trying to play the guitar 2 years ago after a break of nearly 40 years so i can tell you i was quite nervous the first time i got up on my own to play to a backing track. Realy looking forward to the next session at Exeter Court Hotel Oct 31 . If you like to enjoy yourself then be there and have a great time.

David Martin and all the team of ShadowMusic are the unsung hero's who do such a great job of providing a real community spirit and helping to promote the camaraderie which exists between all the clubs, our sincere thanks goes to them being part of making it all possible. I would also like to take the opportunity of thanking all our current members who have supported me and are very much instrumental in generating the the kind comments above.
