OT: Running to Help a Good Cause!

Hello, my instrumental friends across the waves!

Note: I hope I am not running afoul of any formal or unwritten policies concerning donation solicitations on this board. If I am, let me know and I will remove this post ASAP. That said...

For a change (and good cause), I'm partnering with my wife's organization, the LightHouse for the Blind, in San Francisco, for my next half-marathon running race, the Kaiser Permanente in February 2011, thru SF Golden Gate Park. I'm hoping to raise $1,300 USD to benefit the LightHouse's Enchanted Hills Camp in Napa, California, an idyllic retreat north of San Francisco, for kids and adults who are blind or visually impaired.

It's the first time I've put my running efforts toward anything more than personal satisfaction.

My fundraising page just went live yesterday:

It's working, scrolling tote board and all!

Let me know if you would like to help (the site says it can accept overseas credit cards). Frankly, I am new to asking for donations of any kind for any cause and feel rather awkward. But it doesn't hurt to reach out and ask!

Thanks for listening. And happy holidays one and all from your all-things Shadows pal on the West Coast, USA.
