I've been trying to play this song from a tab I got from the internet and I'm stuck on one part and wondered if anyone can help?
It's the 'yippy-i-ay'..........yippy-i-o' bit! Anyone know the chords that are played over that please?
Stephen.

Sorry to sound like a musical imbecile..............but I have no idea about keys or music notation. Unless it states the key on the tab, I have no idea. Must be a right dunce.........!

How strange, I would have swore there was no key change in the original ( and best !) version of this by the Ramrods but of course, on listening sure enough.
And also the Apache intro at the end, I didn't remember that either !
Dotage cometh.

Hi Stephen,
We play 'Riders' regularly in my band, & I play the Rhythm. What I play behind the Middle Eight (Yippy) sequence is : C, Em, Dm, G .... & then back to Am. We play the Shads version, not the Ramrods. Hope that helps.
Regards, Tony.

Thanks Jay & Tony, that's a great help and hopefully will provide 'the missing link' in playing that song. It was The Shads. version that I was (trying!) to do, not the Ramrods. First time that I saw & heard them playing it on a YouTube video, I was really surprised at the intro & outro. I like it, but it just doesn't seem to fit with the song. Reminded me of an Eric Clapton piece.........
By the way, thanks also for not criticising my poor musical knowledge and sparing my blushes!
Stephen.

The chord sequence for that bit is C - Em - Am - G - Am ,
Dm does not get a look in.
