Hi Everyone,
Thought this might be of interest. Via another site I befriended an Australian who is involved with the reissues market 'down under'. He's putting out a 3 - CD set crammed with hits & obscurities from the Australian regional charts. Everything is remastered with many tracks making their CD debut. When John Rostill was playing bass for Tom Jones his songwriting abilities came to the attention of Gordon Mills - who was also managing Leapy Lee at the time. Thus Leapy recorded & released John's "Little Yellow Aeroplane". The recording didn't feature H, B, B or John - but it did feature Big Jim Sullivan and future Shadow Alan Jones. Sadly - it wasn't a hit although it's a pleasant, whimsical ditty. It's making its CD debut and it also appears in glorious stereo too. I mention it here because of the John Rostill connections but also for another reason. It was Elsie Rostill's (John's mother) favourite solo composition of his. When she passed away she bequeathed her own copy of the original single to me. I treasure it to this day - but now can't wait to hear it in glorious remastered stereo on CD.
Bests.....Rob
