Duet

Hi everybody. I've just joined the forum. The reason for joining was to see if I could get any help with identifying a guitar duet. My mate and I used to play it when we had a group in Germany back in the 60's. I mocked it up in a notation program and sent him the .wav file of it but he couldn't remember it either. We weren't even sure it was a Shadows number. I searched all over the net (including Youtube of course) and even tried a few of the "Name that Tune" sites to no avail. As time went on I became more convinced that it had a Shadows sound so after more searching, I found this community. I registered late last night and of course had to wait for it to be approved. In the meantime, I was able to search the posts on here and low and behold, I found it.
"Theme from a Filleted Plaice". So, result, job done.
I then searched for it on Youtube and couldn't find the original. Only covers. Does anyone know if it's out there ?
Thanks.

Hello Roger,
Welcome to the forum.
"Theme from a Filleted Place" was track 10 on The Shads first LP "The Shadows", and is still available on CD - see the Amazon link:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shadows-Out/dp/B0000073QD/ref=sr_1_5?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1296576364&sr=1-5

(I hope I've pasted that link correctly!)

It'll also be available from Leo's Den - who specialise in all things Shads.

Hope this helps.

Regards
Paul
P.S. You clearly have GREAT taste when it comes to music!!

Hi Paul,
Thanks for replying. It was also on another couple of albumns apparently (see here) http://www.last.fm/music/The+Shadows/_/ ... ce/+albums

Thanks for the comment about my musical tastes although I'd have to say they're pretty varied. I'll have a punt around this site and see if I can update my profile a bit.
Cheers,
Roger
