This is their new model aimed specifically at 'Shads' sounds i think, anyone used them before

The Age Pro is an excellent unit, very similar to the Atlantis 1, but with additional features. There are 5 virtual heads which allow you (via switches) to select whatever combination you want, also, you can select which head you want louder than the rest. If you don't mind the fiddling (like a tape echo), then it's a great unit.

Unlike the Atlantis, where each of the modes are identified as to what old unit it is trying to replicate, I couldn't get much info on the Amtech either from Geoff Strachen, Burns or the manufacturers. My own interpretation would be that modes 1 - 3 are Binson type echoes, 4 - 6 are multi-taps and the remainder are for manually adjusting the head configuration.

I was looking for one not too long ago without success, so I bought an Age One which is very similar, except for the virtual head settings. I had previously tried the Age One and thought it rubbish, but after getting to understand the echo patterns, it's not a bad unit either, but it won't do everything that the Age Pro will do.

Didier Excuse my ignorance i thought it was new, Hi Dave have 5 units at the moment thats enough.(2 Q20's,1Q2,Roland 301 and a m/stomp)

The Age Pro has been about for many years now, the newer models have some of the virtual head controls on the front panel whereas the older/original models have these on the rear panel.

think its a re-launch though - there's a full review in this months guitarist mag

Well, I've managed to source another Age-Pro, so I'll get a chance to see if my memory was good because this was a cracking piece of kit.

I think I am correct in saying that Barry Gibson has used the AGE-Pro on all his Shadows are missing CD's so anyone who wants a demo of the Pro just listen to the three CD's. Fabulous sound, fabulous echoes.

To my ears the amtech sounded very hard and brittle, appears like its almost spitting at you, obviously when used in a recorded situation you could add a certain colour and tone it down a bit but the repeats are not very accurate and it lacks the big ambient warmth, the atlantis is superior, still not exactly right but with a better tonality, hence why Bruce and i chose it as a spare, but that only sounds good till you put it next to a Meazzi, which is the main basis of both these units, albeit the Atlantis has in addition settings for long toms and binsons etc, they were both designed to replicate for the most of it Meazzis, of which the latter of the two is better but still falls short.
If i thought i could use a unit that exactly replicates a Meazzi 100% i would jump at it, to not have the ongoing " always having to be on it " syndrome would be absolute heaven but alas there is nothing out there to fill the gap, not totally anyhow.
Just my opinion of course,
