Just thought I'd draw this to everyone's attention.

On the last couple of occasions that I have logged in, my first attempt has failed. A message has come up saying:

You exeeded your maximum number of log-in attempts. In addition to your password you must now enter the code from the image below.

Now, I usually associate this kind of message with repeated attempts to log in using the wrong password, ie; someone trying to fraudulently log in to something.

So, has anyone else had this problem? Does it mean that someone, or an automated 'robot', is trying to access my account?

It's a bit worrying, so any thoughts/help from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've just had to log in, first time for ages, don't know why.
No problems though.

My access is set up so as to automatically get into the site without having to log on.

Just had a similar problem -on first log in attempt I was told I had 'exceeded the allowed number of log in attempts' or words to that effect. I then had around three different rejections for what I believe were accurate entries of the 'number letter code' before I finally got in.

What gives?

No problems for me.

I've had no problems on this site but I had the same request on another forum (not music related) I've recently joined.

That board has the same host as SM so perhaps it's something to do with that?
