Wonderful Land

Probably should have named the topic Petticoats and Dreamboats (vv) which is the title of a CD I recently bought. The Shadows have Wonderful Land on this CD which follows 'Telstar' just so we know we are talking about the same volume. However, listen to WL. I am sure it is not the original version they released. Sounds a little 'thin' and the tempo is too fast.

I think all the Shadows tracks on the Dreamboats and Petticoats collections are the Polydor recordings (from the 1980s?), not the original Columbia ones. Some other tracks on the D and P are also re-recordings - including Duane Eddy's Dance with the Guitar Man.

Petticoats and Dreamboats CDs are released by Universal, which means that the Wonderful Land track they are using is the 1989 version from the "At their Very Best" album, not the original 1962 EMI recording.

Thanks for the responses. I thought as much but needed confirmation from you experts.
