I don't know if this has been mentioned here before but I've just got a copy of the Jeff beck Rock'n'Roll Party DVD,it's completely blown me away. This is a live gig honouring Les Paul but there is also a load of early rock and roll/rockabilly and even a, (not quite as the Shads played it but close), version of Apache. With the support of an excellent band and vocalists JB nails the styles and tone of many players including Cliff Gallup, Scotty Moore and of course Les Paul. Beck is a national treasure!

I heard a track from this on the car radio the other day- it was How High the Moon, played and sung live with a lot of guitar and vocal harmony backing tracks..
Definitely the most impressive guitar and vocal karaoke I've heard!

Jeff mindblowing as ever. Not often I've seen him use a pick. Must have been his pre-fingerstyle days.

I too was suprised at the use of the pick. The gig was last year and for most of the tunes he just uses fingers. He used finger and thumb picks on his excellent "Crazy Legs" CD which consists entirley of Gene Vincent/ Cliff Gallup songs. Jeff Beck is a huge Cliff Gallup fan, during the Rock 'n' Roll party DVD he even wears a ble cap just like the ones worn by the Bluecaps way back when.

I watched this today. A great gig with a real feel good factor and, as you would expect, some superb musicianship.

Yep ... a great buy ...
I loved the recreation of Les and Mary but done live by Imelda and Jeff... what a singer and what a guitar man...
