The great DJ Geoff Barker has a rock n roll radio show on BBC Radio Wiltshire on Saturdays 6 to 8pm. Next Saturday he is dedicating the second hour to Jet Harris and he will be playing tracks from his work including tracks from The Vipers, The Drifters, The Shadows, with Tony Meehan and Jet's solo albums.

This is a show not to be missed on any week and I'm sure Geoff will make this hour a great tribute to The legendry bass player Jet Harris.

Geoff has asked for requests for this part of the show to be e mailed to rocknroll@bbc.co.uk

Listen on BBC Radio Wiltshire or if you can't make it on Saturday catch it on BBC I Player during the following week. Have a listen.

Just in case people missed this, it can be listened to here:

The tribute starts about 1 hour in, and lasts for the remaining hour. A great listen. Geoff has done Jet proud. Looking forward to the full tribute he plans.

Absolutely superb. A great tribute by an excellent broadcaster, knowledgeable musician and personal friend. Bravo Geoff. Loads of super tracks featuring 'The Guv'nor'.

Geoff played a fabulous musical tribute to Jet for the second hour of his Saturday night rock n roll party as I expected.

Geoff has know Jet for a long time and he often visited Geoff at home in Dorset to record the interviews he had with Jet with a view of writing his biography but it never materialised. Geoff has about 5 hours of conversation recorded and he's going to edit this into a documentry that will be broadcast later in the year.

I have listed the tracks Geoff played on the show for anyone who can't listen to the show which is on BBC I Player 'till Friday or there are other details of the tribute available on Geoff Barkers Rock n Roll party link on Facebook.

Thanks for the show Geoff

Shadoogie, ABC Kingston
Dynamite, BBC 1959
36 24 36
Kon Tiki
She's Gone, written by Jet and Hank
Jet Black, The Drifters and released in the USA as the 4 Jets
The Fly, Th Vipers
Hully Gully, The Rapiers with jet on vocals
Some People, Jet on vocals (not the film version)
Wild One, Jet on vocals and harmonica by Cyril Davis

Tequila, Bobby Graham Jet on the "Tequila" vocals with a chatty intro from Bobby asking Jet to say/sing Tequila in the right way. Very amusing.

And add "The Man With the Golden Arm" right after "Dynamite".
