Last weekend I saw a 1996 CD of "Hits right up your street" on ebay. I would assume that it was a Pickwick pressing although the picture was of the earlier black/white house. I bid up to £15 but it eventually went for £24.99. The same seller also had a Pickwick pressing of "All alone with friends", I again went up to £15 but at the time of writing this, it stands at £51.00. To me these prices are a little on the steep side, would you be prepared to pay prices like these, or perhaps you have done?.
Oh and while on the subject, have you seen the prices asked on Amazon these days? Volume 2 "The complete French singles collection £94.52, Moonlight Shadows CD £33.94, XXV CD £39.29, I have even seen the "Early Years 6CD set going for over £200. Maybe they never achieve these prices, but for me, in these days of downloads that is just plain madness.

The first CD issue of "All Alone With Friends", now has a bid of GBP 80,00. If you only want this album on CD, then I wouldn't buy this one, because it's available for much less and with better sound quality on the recent 2-on-1 "Words And Music/All Alone With Friends". If you want to have the first issue, by any means, alright.
My father has the original LP's of these albums. The first CD issue we owned, was "Another Side Of Hank Marvin". Because "Bad Cop" and the album version of "The Trouble With Me Is You" weren't on this CD, I then purchased the 1991 first CD issue of "Words And Music" for EURO 22,- at a record fair. To my delight, I also found the original 1984 CD issue of The Shadows' "Guardian Angel", which also cost me EURO 22,-. I already owned the 1998 re-issue "Guardian Angel...Plus", but because it was only the second CD ever released by The Shadows, I purchased it.
The 1992 CD issue of The Shadows' "Change Of Address" is also on offer for a substantial EURO 75,-.

At the close of the sale, "All alone with friends" made £99 after 33 bids. I'm speechless, for once.

How many bidders fought it out in the last hours?

It's much rarer and harder to find, of course.

Used recorded media is a big business these days. I go to a large local car boot sale on Sunday mornings and there are always lots of guys buying up collectable Cds' and lps'. You can usually tell them as they often have newspaper delivery bags for their purchases. The mark up is very high as they rarely pay more than £2 per item and they sell on Ebay for silly prices. I do the same sort of thing but with guitars and amplifiers. The last Selmer T&B I saw was last summer it was sold for £100, I'm sure the buyer made a good profit if he listed it on Ebay!
