East Yorkshire Shadows Club Annual Gala

Hi,
Time is fast approaching for the annual Gala. This will be the 13th Gala of the East Yorkshire Club and is due to be held at the Scarborough Rugby Club, Scalby Road Scarborough YO13 ONL on the 21st and 22nd May. Special guests to include Alan Jones, Ian McCutcheon, Roger Allcock and the seven bands that will play over the weekend. There will be ample time for those wishing to play live or to backing tracks. There will be a special tribute to Jet over the weekend. Bar and refreshments are available on both days. The weekend begins at 12.noon on Saturday until 5.45pm giving people chance to go for the annual fish and chips at Walkers Fish Restaurant! Sunday begins at 10.30 until 4.30pm. Tickets are priced £12.00 for two days or £7.00 for one day. Any more information required please give either Ian or myself a call on 01723 366811.

Will be travelling up from the Westcountry along with two others and very much looking forward to an event that I think is among the best Shadows/guitar weekends of the year.

Having attended several times before, I've always found the friendly atmosphere and excellent organisation second to none. (and the Saturday evening fish'n'chips aren't 'alf bad either !!)

I've been told by Ian McCutcheon that 'Legend' are down to play on the Sunday, however, I knew nothing about it and can't find any details on your Club pages with the format for the weekend.
Can you upload a poster of some sort to let people know who is on the bill?

Hi Tony,
Just to let you know programme is being finalised at the moment as we have just had confirmation from the other bands who are attending. After speaking with Terry and Martin from Legend at the January club meeting they opted for Sunday so assumed they would have been in contact with you. The bands appearing are Legend of course, Shazzam, Shadows Music, Jigsaw, Gee Whizz and Melvin, and Alan Jones and Friends. Other acts are Ian McCutcheon and Roger Allcock as well as all the guitarists and drummers who will play too. I can put details on at a later date a bit nearer to the gala if it helps. Hope you keeping okay and having sunny weather in York like us. Any problems give us a ring.

I've tied up Terry and Martin and forced them to listen to three hours of Max Bygraves records to get to the truth. It appears they may have forgotten to mention to Chris and myself that we were playing at the gala in May.
However, we will of course be delighted to take part in the event and thank you for inviting us.
