What a letdown. I thought Bruce had really made it this time becoming "Sir Bruce" then I found out it was that other fella who has something to do with dancing ? not "Dance On".

i would like to add to this. i cant think of anyone who would deserve it more, hes a true gentleman who comands respect wherever he goes. hes done his time serving the music industry, now they should show him the true respect he deserves. sir bruce, it has a nice ring to it. peter

Tin helmet time!!!!!!!!!!!!
If any of The Shadows were to be knighted, I guess that Hank Marvin would be the most obvious candidate. As Hank refused an OBE for his own reasons, I would not expect Bruce or Brian to be knighted above him. Remember that of The Beatles, only Paul has been knighted. Of the Stones, only Mick has been knighted and why he was knighted at all is beyond me.
Personally speaking, I would have loved to see Hank, Bruce and Brian knighted, they deseve the honour for all the young (and not so young ) musicians that have been inspired through the years, but I honestly can't see it happening.

i would agree that hank because he is a higher profile performer would be the most likly but when was the last time he just turned up at a localshadows meeting free of charge. bruce does more for the everyday guitarist than anyone else i can think of. easy anwser as you say is to knight them all hank bruce and brian. peter

I think for people to get these honors they a have to be put forward by someone so maybe if the right people put him forward they may listen

It is possible to nominate someone for an honour, here is a link: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentc ... /DG_067917

I tried to nominate John Barry and Richard Todd in the past, but they both died so I am nervous of tempting fate !

You have to get down on your knees to be knighted, so I thought it best to wait until next year to propose you!
