For those who are prepared to give most music a listen including Django have they listeded to Oscar Allman. I believe he was Argentian and because he looked similar to Djange often stood in for him, Django was notoriusly unreliable. Th e recordings often featured big band and vocalist but the guitar work is interesting.

Yes, Oscar was brilliant on guitar and was a mate of Django- and he sang and danced as part of his act too! see you Tube! Apparently he would sit in for Django when he couldn't (or wouldn't ) show up for a gig!
Some have said that if Django hadn't made it big, Oscar would have been 'the man' back then...

Hi ,
If you like Django, seek out Martin Taylor who was Stefan Grapellis guitarist, superb player in this style and arguably the best there is at this style at the mo but then again not heard Hanks efforts.
It is interesting to know that Django suffered an accident to his fretting fingers and ( i think ) only used 2 or 3 at most for fretting.
cheers
Peter

Stuart,
I have had a look at Ticketmaster and other sites and all I find is Fairfield Hall Croydon, which if true is a great pity as many people would love see and hear a different Hank.
Oh well maybe it is true that the world ends at Watford.
