A couple of friends of mine have a radio show on a Sunday evening on the internet radio station http://www.trentsound.com
Every Sunday evening between 7 and 9 they play classic TV themes. Last night there was everything from Z Cars to Tiswas! Anyway, for some reason, they must have been desperate, they asked me to go in and talk about what I'd been up to over the weekend. Not as mundane (or as exciting) as you might think -- I actually went to Leeds to a Follyfoot convention. Yes, I really am a fan of this much underrated TV series from 1971. Anyway, I talked for about 20 minutes (could have gone on all night) until they threw me out of the studio.
Knowing that I am a HUGE Shadows fan, they then played Man of Mystery, being as it was the theme to the Edgar Wallace TV series from the early '60s. Did I do the Shadows' walk as it was playing? What do you think? I also pointed out to them that it was actually recorded in the middle of the night just to get the right 'vibe'. Hope this is true as they then mentioned it for all those who were still listening and interested in such things!
Anyway, I shall be popping up on the show again from time to time, probably to talk about things other than what I've been up to at the weekend!!! I have suggested that they play the Shads' version of the Thunderbirds theme and I WILL suggest the theme to Pulaski at a later date!
So, if you are interested in old TV and old TV themes, and who isn't?, then you might like to tune in sometime and listen to me talking nonsense over the airwaves...
