I'm very sorry to have to inform you that our friend, bass player and musical director Hoss died in the age of 66.
Most of you will know him; e.g. he played the Shadowmania stage five times; with F.B.I., The Seaside Shadows and our own UB Hank Band.
We are so grateful for all the adventures we shared with him, gigging Europe.
Despite his cancer spreading he kept playing the bass up until last month, as his veins carried music and his head was filled with harmonies.
Our thoughts are with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Martin

I saw him several times at the fanmeetings in Tilburg as a visitor or as performer as part of "F.B.I.". It's been a while since I last saw him, but I remember him as a great bass guitarist.

God rest his soul.

Such sad news and another fine bass player taken from us so soon. I met Hoss many times. What a lovely man he was - always so full of energy, so full of enthusiasm, so full of life. Indeed - he was a big man physically - with a larger than life personality to match. He loved the Shadows passionately. Hoss (it seems to me at any rate) was one of those wonderful people who really did make people feel happy and positive - you just couldn't help it when you were in his company. Now he's up there with Jet Harris and John Rostill beyond this world in 'Shadowland'. Goodbye old friend. My sincere condolences to Hoss's immediate family, relatives and close friends.

RIP Hoss.

Rob

That is very sad news indeed.

Hoss was a larger than life character in every way, and a fine musician and companion.

RIP.

We were able to get to know Hoss in Dombasle (F) and we were last year in Verden (D) with him on the stage.
With Hoss, the scene loses an excellent musician and a very nice man.
Our sincere condolences to his family.
