Jet - Limited Edition Prints

People are asking about the possibility of having a print of the Jet portrait that I painted and donated to the Tribute Evening (see topic ''AMERSHAM - JET HARRIS TRIBUTE NIGHT''.)

If you are interested I would ask that you contact me through a private message to register your name and receive a reply giving you a Limited Edition Print number.

At this stage there is no commitment by the person registering as I have not finalised the cost per unit of the prints. Once the costings have been done a second email will be sent to people registered with me outlining the final cost (mailing costs may vary according to country). The unit price will be the same worldwide in £ Sterling. At this stage you would still have the option to decline. Confirmation would be required at this stage though either way.

So, immediately I am only looking for people/members who would like a print - no payment and no commitment until stage two. I'm trying to be fair until you know all the facts.

Size is still undecided but suggestions prefer A3 minimum or to the full size (400 x 500mm). Either would need a white outline to allow for Title, Signature and print No. Let me know your preferred size option and we'll go with the majority.

The painting is titled '' Jet Harris - The Legend ''

I must reserve the possibility of withdrawing this unless we get at least 50 potential purchasers. You will be kept fully informed.

Thank you.
John

Registrations are coming in so don't get left out.

I think a time limited of 2 weeks from today should be the cut-off point for registering - i.e. 20th July 2011.
Registrations will stop if the maximum 100 is received before this date.

So far the majority would like full size prints.

Thank you,
John

Hi,
I would like to register my request to order one of your prints. Size is of no importance , so whatever size is decided please advise me.

I have always been a Jet Harris Fan, and unreservedly copied his style from the start. ( and also he was MY Doyen when I took up the bass in 1963)
My e-mail addy is: roadkingmick0309@aol.com

Update...

I need a few more people to make this viable. At the moment it is falling short of a number that would make the production of this Limited Edition A2 size cost effective. At this size the unit cost can run to over £20 for short print runs, and I think that would be far too expensive. I'm trying to get it down to about the £15 mark but would need a few more to show interest.

As I previously posted, I will see what happens up to the 20th of this month and announce what will happen. I will also let individuals who have shown interest the likely cost if the numbers do not reach print run discount figures. There was initially a Forum request about possible prints of the painting and I will do my best to support it. Its up to the members and friends now so over to you.

One last reminder posted below showing a one-off press proof I have had made as a test piece.

John - it looks beautiful. £20.00?? To be honest - I don't know exactly what I was expecting to pay - but probably a good deal more than that!! So, quite frankly - £20.00 sounds incredibly reasonable to me!! Hope some kind of print run will be able to go ahead.

Best wishes,

Rob :)

Thanks Rob and Dave for these early encouraging replies.

Being a sixties rocker myself I am very conscious of the value of money so always try to get the best deal I can.

Now that we know the maximum unit cost is not going to be more than a little over £20, and hopefully nearer the £15 mark, let's hope a few more will come on board and get the cost down. Final cost will be announced on 21st to all registered enquiries.

Thanks Steve. I have replied by email to you.

General: You are quite welcome to leave your requests on this ''Jet Print'' topic, but for your own privacy and security there is the option of a private message. Please respect anyone's privacy if they have already posted their personal email on here.

Steve, you can amend your posting and delete your email address quite easily if you want, now that I have it. Click on ''EDIT''.

By the way, no-one has been reserved No. 13 !! Print No. 13 will be set aside deliberately if we go to press - unless someone fancies it!

Hi John, Can you put me down for number 13. I think it will make it even more collectable. A superb tribute to a true legend. Cheers, Jim
