I must say it´s always been one of my favourite Shadows albums, especially the tracks recorded in March and April 1977, which are the six originals and "Walk Don´t Run". The sound on the 1992 "More Tasty" CD is quite average, good but lacking some punch. The 2004 Magic Records double CD is okay, but I like the five tracks of this album, issued on the 4 CD box "Complete Singles As And Bs" better quality-wise, because they are remastered. Also, the quality of the tracks from this album, issued on the 1989 CD "Listen To The Shadows" are superior to "More Tasty".

I think some of the 'Tasty' tracks were leftovers from 'Specs Appeal' as some tracks feature John Farrar on guitar and he had left the band in 1975 to produce Oliva in America. It's not the best album they made but does have some good tracks like Cricket bat boogie, Bermuda triangle and Another night. The cover was pretty boring though, just a picture of a half peeled orange!

You're right about the leftovers. They were supposed to be issued on the "Specs Appeal" album, had it not been for the Eurovision Song Contest recordings. That would have made ten instrumental tracks. Maybe the other two to be added would have been "The Air That I Breathe" and "No No Nina" (instrumental version). The tracklisting for the original intended "Specs Appeal" album would have been something like this:
1. God Only Knows.
2. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
3. Rose, Rose.
4. Honky Tonk Women.
5. Colorado Songbird.
6. The Air That I Breathe.
7. Honourable Puff-Puff.
8. Superstar.
9. Spider Juice.
10. The Most Beautiful Girl.
11. Like Strangers.
12. No No Nina. (instrumental version).
There's an exact 50-50 percent split of originals and cover versions.

Tasty was the first 'new' Shadows album that I ever got - Christmas 1977. Prior to that I just had 20 Golden Greats.
I love it. 34 years later it's still one of my favourites. I have the Magic CD version and also the Listen to The Shadows CD from 1989 - strangely enough, the very first CD that I ever bought!
