I have to say that one of the highlights of the evening was the Foot Tappers. A reasonable facsimile of the Shadows but what got me was the youth and exuberance of the group who, clearly too young to remember the original, have been inspired by the Shadows to do what they do so well. The young drummer is a Brian Bennett in the making and they really get that rhythm and melody is key, which is something that Bruce holds so dear.
As for Bruce's set: a very tender commemoration of the man that was Jet Harris, followed by a gloriously relaxed sequence of tunes by Bruce and his Shadows that showed off his brilliance as a vocalist and a rhythm guitarist. If you can't have the complete Shadows, then this surely has to be the very close next best thing! And that really is no bad compromise either.
