I love seeing this video each and every time - and very funny at the end, with Hank walking out and staring at Cliff with a bemused look on his face! Great stuff.

It also shows that, though sloppy (probably due to insufficient practice and experience), Cllif was actually already then a pretty decent guitarist, and did a fine job emulating Hank. He was most certainly good enough to play some additional rhythm guitar on a few those early tracks, Sleepwalk, Gonzales, Big Boy, etc....

The first time I saw this video on YouTube, I wondered whether it was real, or if Cliff was miming. Then I listened a bit closer and answered my own question! I completely agree with Ivan -- I laughed out loud when I saw Hank come out at the end and gesture to Cliff as if to say, "Give me back my guitar, and go." How did Bruce and Jet manage to keep their composure and not fall down laughing!

In an odd sort of way, I found this video inspiring. I am trying to learn how to play guitar, and I haven't gotten very far (it's my own fault). Seeing Cliff play Apache was much less daunting than seeing Hank play it. So there's hope!

And, no disrespect meant toward Cliff. I was actually impressed. I can't play like that.

Regards,

Donna
