Noted a news item to day that a new digital radio sation "Absolute 60s" are refusing to play any of Cliff's songs as they dont consider them relevent. They will concentrate on the Beatles, Stones, Who and the Doors!
Another lot that obviously seem to think the 60s began with the Beatles! If so and they are going to miss out on some great music not only from Cliff but other pre Beatles acts!

A station run by people who probably weren't around in the 60's. Image is more important than the music. The 60's didn't start until The Beatles, right give me a break!

If this offends anyone, then they have the right not to tune in. Ranting on about it just falls into their 'free publicity' trap

Hi All

A DJ's role in any show should be to give the customers what they what! Not what the producer thinks they should be listening to. I have made my living by talking to and listening to the paying public, a dance floor works by giving what they want

Simple!!!!!!

plug your iPod or whatever into your car radio or home systems and then you can listen to exactly what you want without the chat or the adverts, mind you as I don't have a digital car radio it probably wouldn't matter much to me in any case.

Radio stations work on playlists and DJ's don't always have the freedom to choose to play what either they or the listener wants.
BBC radio stations are a perfect example.
Remember it is all about sponsors money on commercial stations and they have been known to dictate who gets played.

I think the key words in their reason for not playing Cliff is "not relevent!" So it seems someone thinks for whatever reason that Cliff, and you would have to include the Shads, didnt make a relevent contribution to 60s music!
