I can remember seeing Cliff & The Shadows on a Christmas TV show back in 1962, I think it was on Christmas Day. I don't remember too much about it as I was 9 at the time (the Christmas I got my first guitar).
I know they did 'Dance On' & 'Bachelor Boy' which were their latest releases at the time. I can remember them all standing in a circle with acoustic guitars singing carols, even Hank & Licorice.
Does anyone else remember it and know more about it?

I certainly remember the 1962 Christmas Day show (which was, of course, pre-recorded at ATV). If I recall correctly, the Shadows also played Wonderful Land, accompanied by the Jack Parnell Orchestra (probably largely the same personnel who did the London Palladium show, though without the string sections).
Whether that was the show where they did a selection of Christmas carols with acoustic guitars, I'm not so sure - I have an idea that that was more like 1964 or 1965.

Yes, the Christmas 1962 show was broadcast on Christmas Day in the early afternoon. Dancing Shoes was also one of the pieces performed. And they did do a carol sequence. I have a distinct memory of Cliff, Hank & Bruce (all casually dressed) doing more than one such number.

Probably another TV program that wasn't saved

unless it turns up one day in someone's attic or garden shed.

I'm not sure if it was this exact show, but I've got some audio (somewhere) that I taped of Cliff and The Shads singing carols and Christmas songs. It's not great quality as it was done by putting a microphone next to the TV speaker and recorded on reel to reel. I posted this years ago on the original msn site (had to be under 1Mb if you remember.) If anyone's interested I'll see if I can find this stuff and put it on 4shared.
Just let me know.
