Final closure of former website "The Shadows are Here"

One month ago I gave David M. & Bob/Admin notice of my wish to resign as a Moderator from Shadowmusic, & also to have the website title "The Shadows are Here" removed from the header & home page. (For those members who are unaware, I "inherited" TSAH website from my husband, Adrian Bartholomew).

It has been agreed that this will take effect as from Monday 16th January 2012. I have chosen this date to put TSAH to rest as it is the 5th anniversary of his death.

For my own peace of mind (& my late husband's) I feel that now is the time to bring TSAH to a close.

My grateful thanks to all who helped run & contributed to the site whilst it was on MSN.

I shall still take a keen interest in Shadowmusic as a member under my own name, & I will continue to support Shadows related events/clubs & of course, the music, which has been very much a part of my life for the past 40+ years.

I wondered where you went  but didn't notice this thread until today!
Wishing you all the very best Lesley, keep in touch, and hope that our paths may cross again in the future.
I will always remember Ade, and the duets we played back in the 1970's.
Dave

Hi Dave.....It's strange to me when people mention Ade, when he had the web site I was asked by Spike to help run it while Ade went absent, none of us knew how ill Ade was because he wanted it kept quiet, I remember it was quite a shock when we read Lesleys posting saying he had passed away........The strange thing , I never ever spoke to or met Ade, to me the thing he will be remembered for is, without him Bruce Welchs Shadows would not be around and Shadowmania may not even ever happend ..........At his funeral it was very touching to see a wreath from The Shadows, and to have Bruce Welch, Phil Kelly, and Cliff Hall paying thier respects showed to me how they all felt about him..............RIP Ade and his TSAH site....

I met Ade several times at various functions and events, and was able to be helpful to him when the occasion arose.

He was incredibly knowledgeable about The Shadows - he'd probably forgotten more than Rob, George and I ever knew about them, put together (like Calvin Coolidge*). His input is still missed.
