I don't know if anyone here saw the BBC4 film We'll Take Manhattan the other night about David Bailey & Jean Shrimpton. In the film Jean's sister Chrissie was playing the Shadows' Saturday Dance on her record player - the latter item being subsequently thrown down the stairs by a disapproving Mr. Shrimpton!
Martin.

When watching this, Martin, I was reminded of the incongruous scene in the BBC series "Secret Army", where Natalie was playing a Hot Club Quintet 78rpm disc on a gramophone in her flat. Unfortunately, the record being played was an HMV-label disc, whereas Django and the boys were well known to record for Decca.
And in the David Bailey thing, the record on the turntable was coloured red, though Saturday Dance / Lonesome Fella was on the green Columbia label (it would later be re-pressed on the black label).
