Just found out that Billy Strange - guitarist, arranger and composer for Elvis, Nancy Sinatra and many others - died yesterday at the age of 81.
Another hero gone.

George,
Thank you for the post. Another sad day for lovers of instro music.
I'll get some of his LPs out today and give them an airing.
Cheers,
JB

A true guitar hero, Orchestra director and great composer has left us.
I was very fortunate to have spent an evening with him and his wife at the Baked Potato about 3 years ago.
I will cherish his memory and will safeguard all the email exchanges we had together.
The place we went together to:
Rest in peace Billy,
Abel

Billy Strange and Don Randi, eh, Abel? Two of the most legendary names from the Wrecking Crew.
Living in southern California certainly has its advantages. I've been there three times, for a total of only about sixteen nights, and I've lost count of the famous names I've met - they're everywhere!
RIP Billy Strange.

Hi Jim and all,
This will bring you back to Southern Calif.
It's an hour long video on Billy Strange career. A remarkable American story that features the greatest artists.
It was issued for his 75th birthday.
I was one of the privileged ones to whom he sent the DVD before it was published.
Enjoy this Youtube version.
Blessings,
Abel
