. . . . . and in case anyone was wondering who the guy is in the centre of the picture, that's me 'ol mate 'Wild' Bob Burgos "the tattooed sledgehammer of rock'n'roll" who was (for one gig) a member of The Secrets. Here's a pic taken in the dressing room (Royal Victoria Theatre, 5th October 2001)

L to R, that's Pete Walter (bass), Jim Nugent (lead guitar), Trev Faull (keyboard), Bob Burgos (drums), Ray Liffen (rhythm guitar), Alan Holmes (x-Sounds Incorporated, guesting on tenor sax)

(sorry for taking the thread o/t)

Wild Bob has played with Screaming Lord Such and
Matchbox. Not to forget, he was also drummer in THE RAPIERS.

Regards Rune.

That must have been the gig where the gear didn't turn up, as Trev, Jim and Pete are all playing bass...

Well spotted!

Actually, it was the gig where someone didn't (or couldn't) turn off the radio loop system for deaf people with hearing aids. The input for this was provided by a microphone suspended over the stage. The result was a bl**** awful feedback loop with the guitar pickups acting as radio receivers. It's bad enough when you pick up chat from a local radio taxi transmitter, but when your own guitar is feeding back with a squealing sound at very low volumes it drives you crazy! The Scorpions were also playing that night - next time you see John Barber, ask him about it then stand well back!

MANY apologies to the Clifftones for going waaaay off-topic!
