Olympia, Paris 1961

I've just been listening to the live Olympia tracks from the ' Smith' CD and wonder if they were originally recorded for record release - maybe EMI France?
Perhaps they were even released at the time and I'm just unaware of that.
Just curious.
Cheers,
JB

No, there wasn't any live tracks from the early sixties recorded at the Paris Olympia which were officially released by EMI France, or any other EMI branch.
The only Olympia official release is the one from 1975, all others are bootlegs.

Hello Didier,
Thank you for that information.
I've been listening to tracks that would only have been available on a bootleg recording.
Cheers,
JB

It's not true..
Magic Record (MAM Production) published in 2002 a reissue of OLYMPIA 75 with the french official Shadows and Cliff Richard Fan Club... 2 CDs in digipack (Some tracks in Bonus from Live in japan).

Pierre

I wrote "The only Olympia official release is the one from 1975", so we agree. It was recorded in June 1975 and first released in November 1975 on a vinyl album. The fact it has been reissued on CD by Magic Records in 2002 changes nothing to that, as it's the same recording ! ;)
I have it, but it's not listed anymore by Magic Records.

Didier,
The 'Smith' CD includes 9 titles from the 1961 Olympia Concert. Are there other titles available?
Cheers,
JB
