I'm heading down to West Sussex next week to stay with an old pal and he's got us tickets to see Duane Eddy at the De La Warr Pavillion at Bexhill on Monday 21st. I'm really looking forward to it as I've never seen Duane live.
Anyone from here going?

Hi Mikey
Not going to the same gig as you but i'll be there in Holmfirth tomorrow night and then again a week on Saturday in York. I went to Duane's gig in York in 2010, what a night to remember excellent in everyway! One thing for sure you are in for a great night.
Enjoy
Dave

I envy you both. I have never since him. One of my very first LPs was "Dance with the Guitar Man."

Saw the Glasgow gig last night. Was it worth the 50 year wait?
Yep!
Great band, great guitar sound, great sax playing.

Depending on where you sit in the De La Warr Pavillion, you may get to hear Duane's concert twice - once from the stage and the second time as an echo from the back wall. The DLWP is a Grade 1 Listed building and improving the acoustics (by putting sound-deadening material on the back wall to reduce the reflection) is not permitted.

(who will be seeing Duane on Sunday at the QE Hall on London's South Bank)

Duane Eddy. A true legend and all - round nice guy. I saw Duane for the first time in 2010 and will be going to see him at the Basingstoke Anvil on May 23rd. Check out these links / reviews (info courtesy of the Duane Eddy Circle's arthur Moir).

Hello, went to York in 2010 on invite from Richard Hawley, who brought him over from the states for the tour. Richards mother and father played in our group in the 1960s. Went back stage for a little get together with Duane. What a nice guy, no big star image he signed everything that was given to him he had so much time for everyone. He went out into the theater after the show and talked and signed photos for all. Not bad for a man of his age. (im catching him up )His gear was BIG for that sound 2 Fender showman amps and 2 big fender cabs.Great show.Great guy. Cheers Neil

Yes his set at the Oran Mor Glasgow was pretty good and well received by what seemed
a elderly audience!!!
Pity he didn't meet and greet the few fans who wanted a few pictures or autographs at
the show end.
Maybe he wasn,t impressed by the scruffy and dirty venue and filthy gents toilet
where you could have had a swim on the floor!!
Haste Ye Back but not to this place!!
