Levisham 60s Weekend
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway 60s Weekend will be held on 9th/10th June. This will be the eighth year for this popular event.
Our regular bands Shadows Music and Shazam with Ian Geast and joined by compare Kevin Harris will be at Levisham providing continuous music from noon until around 4-30pm.
The two tea huts will be open as usual for snacks, refreshments and ice cream. The guys at the station have been busy and have lengthened the bar in the beer tent and added a third pump to cope with the expected demand from thirsty Shadows fans.
There was never much parking around Levisham Station but there will be even less this year as the Forestry Commission has closed the forest drive and fitted a gate across the road just past the station. So with no parking available in the forest its best to come on the train. You will then get in free otherwise it will be necessary to buy a platform ticket for £2-50. An increase of 50p this year due to rising costs – but still very good value for an afternoon of great entertainment.
There will be a special timetable operating for the weekend with direct trains from to/from Whitby every two hours from 10am until 4pm.

Also the Pickering 60s Festival takes place on the Saturday. The entertainment in the evening on the main stage in the Market Place from 6 until 10pm will be The Little Miss 60s Show, The Legends of the 60s and The Fourmost. This event is FREE.
