Hi Everyone,

Wired For Sound Radio, a new continually streaming internet station featuring the music of Cliff Richard, The Shadows, and friends, is now "on the air" at http://www.WiredForSoundRadio.com. We have about 150 Shadows songs (both instrumentals and vocals) on the playlist; on average, about one out of every 10 tracks aired will be a Shads record. Plus, numerous solo tracks by Hank, Bruce, Brian, Jet, Tony, John, and Licorice (plus Marvin, Welch & Farrar) will also be featured.

Here's the link to the news release with more details about the station:
http://www.prlog.org/11888289-new-inter ... e-1st.html

Even though the official launch date is Friday (June 1st), sneak preview of the station is streaming now.

You can also check out the station's Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/WiredForSoundRadio

Hope you can listen, and hope you enjoy it.

Thanks,
Jeff Bleiel

Good news indeed. Very good luck to you.

If I may add a little something to this...

Although I suspect it is not of great interest; I do a bit of presenting on the local internet radio station trentsound.com here in Nottingham. I always try to play Cliff and the Shadows tracks whenever possible. Last Saturday morning, for example, I played Let Me Be The One, Power To All Our Friends and Long Live Love (by Olivia Newton-John). I asked if anyone knew the name of the person who connected them all, no one knew the answer which was, of course, Alan Tarney. Previously I have played Apache (best number one of 1960!!); Wired For Sound; Theme from the Deerhunter; On the Beach, etc...

Now then, the point of all this is that in addition to my usual duties (Girls Rock - Tuesday night - and the aforementioned Saturday Morning) I have been asked to present next week's Castle Rock show, again, on Tuesday evening 7-10. Now I have decided that my album of the week will be.... ta-dah..... ROCKIN' WITH CURLY LEADS by The Shadows! It seems to me that it may have been a few years since this was anyone's album of the week and so this distinction is well overdue. So, on Tuesday night I shall be playing several tracks from the aforementioned 1973 masterpiece!

If you get the chance, please listen and don't forget that it will be available, sooner or later, on Listen Again directly from the programme's own page.

I am looking forward to it; the only thing now is that I have to choose three or four songs to play! Not that easy, I assure you!

Sorry for hijacking this message. I shall of course endeavour to listen to Wired For Sound Radio and will visit your facebook page once I have logged into the trentsound facebook page tomorrow. Anyone interested, I shall be playing a Shadows tune and will probably give you a mention and say hello...

All the best,
Chris

P.S. Have just taken a look. Couldn't get music to play, no doubt there is not the right kind of software here on this library computer! I shall try again in the morning. Have just emailed a friend all the relevent links.
