Jubilee Concert

Postby neil2726 » 04 Jun 2012, 14:02

I was under the impression that Cliff was on this evenings Jubilee concert! And yet he's not mentioned in any BBC adverts or on the Internet news that I've seen. I do note that JLS and Jessie J are referred to as "POP LEGENDS"

I feel so sorry for Her Maj. Not only has she been shoved onto a former floating gin palace in the freezing cold and rain at 86 watching puffed out rowing boats (do gondaliers have compasses, don't turn right at Gibraltar) now she's got to suffer the like of Jessie J screeching till all hours. No wonder she didn't look too pleased. Must have been the price the gondaliers were charging for a Cornetto.

Loved the little steam boat running on hot Bovril steam--entrepreneural spirit that's why we're not in the Eurozone and never will be. I take it this is to be the pattern the future Spithead Reviews will be undertaken now we've flogged the navy to various landlocked countries like Switzerland. Kite flying at Biggin Hill in September?

Love to be a fly on the bedroom wall before Phil throws the contents of the chamber pot over the fence tonight. One will not be amused. Most elderly grannies at weddings say 'take me home now I like to get settled before Corrie comes on.

It's too much for our Queen--she's too valuable to be exposed to the whims of today's society. Bugger off home Cliff and Congratulation someone else for God's sake. Just seen Geoff's post--a melody--the crows have fled the Tower.

Hi
I believe Cliff is doing a medley of his songs. Just wont be the same without the Shads behind him.
Regards Geoff.

It would have been nice to see Cliff and the Shads perform at this concert, 50 year after their famous appearance at the 1962 Royal Variety Performance !

I too feel very sorry for the Queen. It seemed so cruel making her stand in the rain with Prince Philip for umpteen hours yesterday. Now she and the Duke have to pretend to like all of the garbage at the concert tonight. If the Country thought anything of her and the Duke, none of this "Celebration " would be inflicted upon them. My Mum is 78 and she always says, when asked what she wants for her birthday or Christmas, " nothing and don't waste money on a card either"

OK they're ravens

Actually Phillip those sentiments were the same as mine. My Mum's 90 and I would be called all names if she caught a chest infection in those conditions by exposing her to thos conditions of yesterday. She may have been under cover but the look on her face spoke volumes. I've no doubt she appreciated the effort but someone needs re-think any future events. Imagine the UK without our own dear much loved Maj. One day it'll happen and look who's in the wings----the guy who, when he faces into any wind above force three, you have to tie him down.

I thought the country was hard up but we can find money for these events and the Olympics. A more fitting Jubilee celebration would have been to spend it all on getting britain back on its feet!

what a miserable lot you are, no I don't like Jesse J, but the last one 10 years ago was great (bought the CD and DVD) and every time I saw her Maj on TV at yesterdays event she looked pretty happy, yes it was cold and wet, but she was under cover, and I'm sure if she was suffering from cold some sort of heat could have been arranged.

I've had various messages from people who stood in the rain and watched it all, and they loved it, I just wish I'd had the forethought to have gone.

The Mall is absolutely full of people now, just seen it on the One Show, and remember that there are many older artists on tonight Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, so the Shad's are not on the bill, I would have been truly amazed if they were.

There's always James Bond on the other side, if it all gets too err young and noisy for you, Me? I'll watch it beginning to end.
