Great gig in a really great little theatre!
"The Broadbent" really IS "a hidden gem"! Founded by (award-winning actor) Jim Broadbent's father just over 40 years ago, it was originally the village Methodist Chapel. One member of our audience tonight (93 years young!!) used to worship there when it still WAS a chapel, gave-up high-diving a year-or-two ago by winning a gold medal in a competition, and STILL cycles all the way up Yarborough Hill in Lincoln!! The theatre is run by a team of very enthusiastic amateurs (The sight of the "Sound Man" jigging and clapping to our efforts in his box at the back of the auditorium will remain in our minds for a LONG time!) and they have every reason to be immensely proud of their Theatre.
These sort of venues are the life-blood of Live Performance, and are currently under much stress. "Life Story" are delighted to support them, and so should you, too.
Regards
Paul
