Female singer looking for collabs

Postby Detailed Infinity » 08 Jul 2012, 20:49

Any studio/back bedroom players looking for a female singer to collab with then look no further than giving Sheila Dingus (October Dove) a heads-up. She's asking to collab with literaly anyone who has a note in their head. If you fancy working with her then e-mail her. The addy's on her page--she doesn't bite by the way. She's relativley new to this situation and wants to spread her wings so check her out, you don't really need to be a member of Acid Planet however naturally she's looking for exposure as I'm sure you are.

What's this got to do with Shadows music et al?

A good point. The number of Shadows tracks featuring female singers (nothing personal!) are very few indeed ('wordless' ethereal vox on "Atlantis" & "Geronimo", ONJ on "T D I M Marie" etc....not many others spring immediately to mind)..... ;)

Maybe she is in the style of Kirsty Hawkshaw, for example? Anyone know where she is based? - as my friend Steve and myself might be forming a new band soon...

Hopefully she will be listening to Girls Rock on trentsound.com - as this features the creme de le creme of female rock singers and I have included Suzi Quatro singing 'Move It' on a recent show. I also intend to include Suzi Q. singing 'All Shook Up' as a tribute to Elvis next month. And I may be doing a slightly more 'mellow' show in the not too distant future, so might be including some Kirsty Hawkshaw and Olivia Newton-John in that...

Keep on Rockin' (with or without those Curly Leads!!!!)

;)

P.S. Let us not forget Tahlia Marvin who is on at least one of Hank's solo releases (not to mention the beautiful song named after her...).

That was (and is) a beautiful song, isn't it -- "Tahlia Take Your Time." I played that the other day, as a matter of fact. I found it very touching that Hank not only wrote that song but that he recorded-and-released it, as he seems to be a very private person. Understandably so...but it's really a lovely song.

Kind regards,
Donna

Sheila's a Brit but not a club singer. If anyone thinks they're up to it then give her a bell. Branch out a bit and do some improvising, you may enjoy it. Check out her collbs with the guitarists on A/P.

Tahlia is actually featured on the tracks "Space Oddity", "I Will Always Love You", "Cable Beach" and "Live And Let Die" from "Heartbeat", "Devil Woman" from "Hank Plays Cliff", a couple of tracks from "Hank Plays Holly" and lead vocals on "I Will Remember You" (not "Will You Remember Me" as listed) from "Marvin At The Movies".

Hank must be so proud of his daughter. This song is lovely.
