One of my friends told me recently that he believed that Apache had been (or was about to be) re-released, presumably on the back of the current Matteson's TV ad.
Has anyone else heard of this? IF it is true, I respectfully suggest/recommend that we all buy a copy...

I don't think so.
I've already got it (the original EMI version, whether mono or stereo) a massive thirty-three (33) times, on 45rpm, EP, LP, musicassette and CD.

I managed to buy the 1977 re-release (with 20GG-style pic sleeve as featured in this forum's banner above!) from eBay a few years ago. Still, I would buy it again!
(It was, by the way, the very first Shadows single I ever heard and lead to me becoming a fan!!! Thanks Jerry.).

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apache/dp/B0084 ... 25&sr=8-16 I supect that it's just a download, as Amazon are offering this with a release date of 25/05/2012 and credited to "Hank Marvin and The Shadows".
If it were to be released as a 45, I might buy it if it were to help them achieve another no 1 , even though I no longer have a turntable.

Its got to be the POLYDOR "Apache" - ex - "At Their Very Best" (1989) which I didn't think they were.
UMC Universal Music is Polydor.
Shows how dead in the head EMI must be to miss a sales opportunity like this. The Shadows must be SO persona non grata at Abbey Road!!
cheers
