This year's is the FINAL Shadowmania...

"I have decided that this year's event on September 15th will be the last one, due to various health reasons. If you were thinking of coming but haven't booked yet, think again; it will be great to say goodbye to you in person.

My very best to all of you, and thanks for your loyalty for all these years...

Sad but perfectly understandable. Thank you Bruce for many wonderful years of Shadowmania - should be a packed house this year!!

Bruce has always carried the torch for the Shadows even when they didn't exist as a working band.

Let's hope for a great Shadowmania as a fitting tribute to him and the rest of the guys.

Mixed feelings...

On the one hand, some of us have expected every recent Shadowmania to be the last one, and we have been delighted that it wasn't.

On the other hand, I am DELIGHTED to have a ticket and a hotel room booked for it, and I know that others are in a similar or analogous position.

As I once wrote about a similar occasion:

"...the sort of thing you only fully grasp once past the first flush of youth and in possession of the measure of your own mortality. A once-in-a-lifetime experience. We shall not see its like again."

I suppose we all expected it really - but we had some great times! Only sorry the Rapiers wont be there!

Unfortunately we live too far away in Australia to be there but I love reading about Shadowmania and looking at the videos afterwards and this is sad news. Everyone especially Bruce who has inspired and given so much to his fans will be in my thoughts and hope everyone attending has a wonderful time.

Sorry to hear this, I have my ticket for this year having gone last year for the first time having treated myself for my 50th birthday last year, sorry I missed the Jet performances and sorry the Rapiers won't be there but respect to Bruce for letting us know now so we can make it a special occassion and not just announcing next year " I'm not doing it any more". I hope Bruces' health is not a concern...
