Volume Pedal Choice

Looking for advice please.
Having had a Bespecco VM12 volume pedal fail after only one year of very very light use I am looking for something to replace it.
Thinking of either a Boss FV 500H (or L?) or a Morley PVO+

The Morley has no potentiometer to fail and is supposedly silent in operation.

I gather Hank used a Boss FV300 way back when.

And do I need high or low impedance? The pedal is wired between guitar and effects unit.

Any advice most welcome.

Thanks
Geoff

With your guitar going straight into it you need the high impedance version Geoff.

I have been using a George Dennis volume/phaser pedal for several years which works on the optical principle, so there is no apparent[ signal loss. It gives me the exact control I want for that singing/talking effect Hank gets on those numbers. It has never let me down in the studio or on stage. They also did do a straight volume pedal which I guess would be of a similar quality.
I've got the Boss pedal for home use and that also is ok, but as it uses a volume pot, it is always possible that the dreaded 'crackle' can start after time.

Hope this helps!

Hi Geoff,
I can recommend the Dunlop DVP1
http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalo ... CFkQ8wIwAQ

It's miles better than my previous Morley pedal which operates over about 1/2 inch movement.
The dunlop is linear over the whole movement doesn't require any power and is a superb bit of kit.

Cheers Phil

Hi Geoff,

As well as Phil's recommended Dunlop one, I use the BOSS FV 500H, also excellent.

Kind regards
Roger
