I went to this venue sometime in the seventies to see either the Shadows or MWF.

When and which was it ?

Hi Ecca

If my fading memory is correct, I saw Marvin & Farrar there. Bruce had left the trio by then, making it a duo..... (that's a grammar school edumacation for you!)
My recollection is that they set up on the dance floor, and I'm pretty certain that some punters actually walked in front of them carrying drinks and sloshing beer over the floor!!... weren't you were it Ecca me lad?

I'd seen MW & F at the La Dolce Vita in Birmingham a year or two previously and spoke to Hank briefly and joked about my Lady of the Morning single being the 93rd they'd sold which Hank laughed at. I also mentioned that the track 'Gracie' on the Rockin' wiv Curly Leads album was a superb piece, at which John Farrar stuck his head round the dressing room door (not his body, just his head!) so he obviously appreciated a bit of recognition from a Great Barr resident!!

Hope this helps our kid!! ;)

That's great Sir Maurice. ( How's yer knees these days ?)
We must have been there the same night, I vaguely remember it being
on the floor and not the stage.
Any idea of the year ?

It must have been 1972/3, when they released the Marvin & Farrar album as the two of dem. Brilliant stuff they did- pity it did'nt take off, as I thought they were better than CS & N and similar outfits at the time. I play the MW & F collection album when I'm in my car and it still sounds fresh and surprisingly not outdated..... unlike me... time has taken its toll and my knees, Ecca me lad. They still bleedin' 'urt!!

See you some time!

Maurice (Tuned Knees and wobbly bits!) ;)

I still play all the MWF stuff, I got all the CDs and it's all on my phone for immediate gratification.
You're right about CSN too, MWF and MF were just as good.
Love it all, so full of ideas.
