The latest Reverend Guitars newsletter contains an interview with Shane Fontayne. His answer to the second question "What inspired you to start playing?" is of interest.

Shane is a great guitar player. I saw him live with Marc Cohn at a music festival (see photo) and during one song Marc was laughing because he noticed that Shane was tuning his guitar while playing the song at the same time.

Blimey, Andrew, that picture you posted is 25.7 inches by 19.6 inches at screen resolution!

I know, from my experiences moderating several (non-music) forums, that large images can cause problems for some members trying to view them. Perhaps admin might consider posting some prominent guidelines for posting images.

Sorry, Andrew, I didn't mean to get you to remove it - just wanted to point it out so that next time you could drop the size down.

Thanks for making the point Noel.
Problem with guidelines is that people don't read them! Oversize images have not been a major problem on this site so far as I know, nevertheless it's good to be reminded that shrinking them gives a better experience all round

Having just recently re-watched Bruce Springsteen's MTV Plugged DVD from 1992 I can vouch that Shane Fontayne is indeed an excellent guitarist - and in 1992 looked nothing like he does in these recent postings.
(Nore does the excellent Marc Cohn come to that)

Shane toured for 18 months with Bruce following Springsteen deciding to work with another band other than his regular E Street Band. This was 1992 - 93.

Shayne was also with Lone Justice for a while prior to this.

He is far left on stage in these MTV clips with huge mop of hair and very tight 'trousers':
