OK, I've read the FAQs about avatars but I'm no wiser - how do I put an avatar on my signature?
Than you.

Dear Ezekiel, Welcome to the Community. Here is what I know about adding your avatar photo. This will add your photo to the "right side of the page" like mine. There is a way to put something in your "Signature" which is at the bottom of the page. My instructions below relate to putting an avatar which shows up on the right side of the page.

Toward the top of the Board's main page, you should see a blue stripe.
Click on USER CONTROL PANEL.
Then click on PROFILE.
Click on EDIT AVATAR.
What I did next was, click on UPLOAD FROM YOUR MACHINE.
Then click BROWSE.
Navigate to the photo/image you want to use as your avatar.
You can probably take it from there.

The only issue I encountered at first was that my photo was too large. The computer will give you a pop-up error message, saying maximum size is xxx by xxx pixels (180x180 I think). So I used Microsoft Photo Editor something-or-other software to edit the image to a smaller size. Then you start all over again, at the User Control Panel...and it should work.

I hope this helps. If it doesn't, please post another message or PM me. I'd be glad to help if I can.

Kind regards,
Donna

As you can see it worked!
Thank you.
I should add, I was very young at the time and, sob sob, I no longer own that beautiful instrument anymore!

As a result of this can you help me with notifications?
I don't seem to get emails for new posts/replies.
Can I do anything about that?

Hi! The avatar worked very nicely. You look just like Hank. :D

One way to do notifications is this:

When you create your post, look toward the very bottom of the screen. You will see a tab called OPTIONS.

Check the box that says "Notify me when a reply is posted."

Also, in your PROFILE (that you access in User Control Panel), you have options you can check/un-check regarding Private Messages. If you choose to Allow Private Messages, you can (if you want to) check a box that says "Notify me when a Private Message has arrived." This will send a notification to your personal/private email, that basically says there's a message waiting for you in your Inbox in the User Control Panel.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Donna

OK, let's try this. Create a reply back to me, but before you send it...look below the words you are going to send...see the SUBMIT button? (Don't click it yet.) Look lower...see the SAVE button and PREVIEW button? If yes, look below that...do you see two things: OPTIONS. And UPLOAD ATTACHMENT.

If you see OPTIONS, there should be five choices you can check and un-check.

Disable BBCode
Disable Smilies
Do not automatically parse URLs
Attach a Signature
Notify me when a reply is posted.

That last one...Notify Me...is the one you want to check by clicking on the box next to it.

Give a try and we'll see.

Kind regards,
Donna
