I say you fellows, did anyone notice today's Golden Oldie this morning?
No?? Good Lord above.

It was "Apache"

The original version. 1960, ( Or was it 1961 or 62? )

Anyway, it was a spiffing listen. :D

You all have a lovely day.

Well here, in this little corner of the Empire, one of the Easy Listening (and quite popular) radio stations regularly plays Apache, F.B.I., Wonderful Land and maybe some other Shads stuff that I've missed.

Make the most of it - I note Ken Bruce is loosing his morning show to Simon Mayo as Radio 2 targets a younger audience!

Has this rumour re-surfaced ? It was doing the rounds about three years ago and was quashed then.
I am 49 and find that Ken Bruce, Brian Mathew and Tony Blackburn are the only presenters playing my kind of music now. Oddly enough , I found that Radio 2 played better music 10 years ago . Bl**DY younger audience

Try "Gold", they are always playing The Shads, especially Dean Martin 8pm to midnight

Ken Bruce is NOT losing his morning show any time soon. I have that from a very reliable source.

Great news regarding Ken Bruce! I can put up with Jeremy Vine, but that show isnt a patch on what Jimmy Young did and
Steve Wrights ego just makes me switch off!
