For Admin - Board invaded by advertising bot?

I had a PM from Iain Purdon today. It reminded me that the innocent word "your" in my previous message to him had been rendered as a hyperlink - odd, you may think.

I then saw the thread about the Laney VC30 for sale and saw that the word "Send" was treated as a hyperlink by the site. Clicking it leads to an advertising site which is reluctant to let you leave again.

The same is true of the name "Dave" in the third post in the "RIP Dave Brubeck" thread.

Has the site been attacked?

JN

PS: This is also manifested in other threads and postings. The ones above are merely examples.

Hmmm...

Uninstalled and re-installed Chrome... disabled all extensions except for ones I know I installed and it seems to have stopped...

Not met this problem (I am using Firefox, and delete all internet temporary files and cookies at least once a day).

I've found out what it was: malware in the form of a Google Chrome extension called "Disable Timeline On Facebook".

Not all of those Facebook Timeline removal programs are malicious, but that one (with that particular name) seems to be.

Now fixed.
