Shadows book(s)

Whilst reading Malcolm Campbell's book 'A Pocket Guide to Shadow Music', I have been made aware of a book written by George Geddes called 'Foot Tappin'. Malcolm informs me that he borrowed a copy of the book from George to reference whilst writing his book. It appears that the book is out of print and now not readily available.

So, just wondering if anyone else on the forum has this book or if they have any ideas as to how a copy could be acquired.

Perhaps George himself would consider republishing it? Let's face it, there are few enough books on the Shads out there and another one would be more than welcome.

Thanks and Happy New Year, etc...

Chris

Hi Chris

Foot tapping - like its successor 'The Shadows - a history and discography' - is long out of print, and both books are so out of date that a reprint would be pointless.

A revision would be a possibility but would depend on me finding the time to plough through almost 50 years of press cuttings, magazine articles. I'm not sure that the discography would be worth devoting much time too, as the information is available elsewhere, though for completeness a brief UK only listing might be essential.

A bit of me would love to do it for personal satisfaction, but I'm not sure that there is sufficient demand for a text-only book (using photos would send the cost sky-high).

Well, Dave, to paraphrase Hank or Bruce "you'd just have to have read something else..."

:D
