Hi there,
"Hotmail" is usually accessed directly via the web, just like Googlemail.
Outlook is a Microsoft program running on a PC.
Outlook can be set up to read hotmail etc - but you can still go to the web - online and access hotmail in a web browser.
Or have you been using another PC program previously to access your hotmail account?

Hi
Hotmail has now been replaced with a new web-based system, which Microsoft are branding as "Outlook" (Outlook still exists as a piece of software on the PC as part of the Office suite, but this is an online version of the same thing).
I don't think Hotmail exists anymore so I'm afraid you'll have to stick with it and get used to the new interface.
Hope that clarifies, even if it doesn't help!

I still have access to Hotmail.com and using it, although the home page proposes me to switch to Outlook.com, which I haven't done.

I have been using Mozilla Firefox as my main browser and Mozilla Thunderbird as my main e-mail client for almost six years now. I don't even have any version of Microsoft Office installed anymore. For MS-Office applications as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, I now use the open source suite OpenOffice.org. I want as little Microsoft software on my PC as possible, apart from the operating system of course.
