Having just moved to the area (oh yes I have!!!!), I was hoping to go. Unfortunately, well, not really unfortunately as such, some friends from Derby and Sheffield are coming over to see me on Saturday, so I shan't be able to make it. Never been to a Shads social before, so I hope to get along to the next one. And maybe the one after that, too!!!

;)

Many thanks to Steve and Jim for organising another very enjoyable meeting today.
Your hard work and endeavours on behalf of the Guitar Club members is very much appreciated.

There were a few new faces today including Alan Poskitt (drums).

David Martin popped in to show club members his new 50th anniversary, which evoked alot of interest.
The guitar is beautifully made and the sound excellent (as demonstrated by David when he played "Sleepwalk" and "F.B.I."). Shame about the price!!

Legendary ex Shadows Bass player Brian "Licorice" Locking turned up later in the day and participated in the live set with various guitar club members including "The Foottappers" - Brian's warm personality and enthusiasm shining through as usual.

Best Wishes

Tony

Hi all
Yes a brilliant afternoon at the "club" yesterday with some new faces. Great organisation as usual and superb playing.

You may have noticed me taking photo's and these will be available for free for anyone that wants one of themselves at the next meeting they are in 4x6 at the moment but can be made upto A4.

I was honoured to hold Davids new guitar signed by Hank, Bruce, and Brian and got someone to take a pic of me holding it, good job I checked my head was chopped off, a second attempt did the trick.

Steve.

Great to meet you all...

Special thanks to Jim and Steve...

(And no thanks at all to the person at the venue I spoke to on the phone when I was unable to find the place owing to massive roadworks and road closures in the vicinity... Me: I'm lost and I just can't seem to find the club because of all the roadworks. Him: Well everyone else found it... if you're on Forester Street it's on the next corner... - it wasn't!)
