I have a song going around in my head. I think the above is the title. The chorus ( I think ), is "Gather round the lemon tree, mister can you hear me.
Gather round the lemon tree, mister don't come near me.

It's from possibly the mid sixties. I can't remember who might have recorded it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers, Alan.

Isn't it annoying when that happens. Apparently it's known as an "earworm", http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earworm which is a really good description of how it feels when it happens to you.

"Earworm" Philip? A very apt description. And it's still there now. Strangely it's how I've learned some tunes without sheet music, tab, etc.

Ecca, constant source of information. Thank you for putting me out of my misery. :D

Sorry for the late reply I've been teaching an advanced Shotokan Karate class this evening.

Oh, no, hang on I remember now I dropped off to sleep on the settee with a Springer on my lap.

Cheers, Alan.
